Reading learning story

In reading we have been reading narratives and learning about the author's purpose.

I like the author Mo Willems.





I think the author wrote this book to surprise his friend.


The setting is outside and the characters are a pig and an elephant .

The problem was when they could not find each other so the elephant was worried.


The author used entertaining words to make the story better.

I am good at being silent at reading time because I ignore people who are talking.

I can read hard words because I sound out the hard words.

I got better at reading more pages in the book because I can get it done faster.

It is hard to read my book because people are talking.


I feel happy when I finish my book because I can move on to my next book.

My next steps are to read more books because I can get more information from the books I read.


I am going to achieve my next steps by reading faster because i will get more information from the books I read.

My writing learning story

In writing we have been learning to write narratives. In writing sometimes i will write long story's but sometimes I will write little stories. In my writing book there is a Brooklyn and the sun story. There is a beginning middle and end and setting.That story is long and it is a cool as one and the longest story in my book. I think it is my favorite story too. I was happy with my Brooklyn and the sun story.   

My maths learning story

In maths we are learning to work together in a maths team to help each other solve problems.

I am good at solving maths problems because we talk so we know what we are doing then I will share all my ideas I have so we can get the problem solved.


I can share what we did in our maths book.

Then we have to listen to other people are sharing what they did in their maths book so we can make connections with other people did in their maths book. Then they will ask if there are any questions if someone puts their hand up the people who shared their cool maths learning in their maths book if other people did not get it right they will go "oh i get it now".

Ngati Aroha noho marae

On Thursday ngati aroha went to the marae. Ngati aroha did some cool activities. One activity was ki o rahi the other one was dancing with Pina and Nash. There was a few more activities.The kapa haka people did kapa haka in the wharenui then some people were talking so we had to go outside when it was cold.Then we finished kapa haka and had morning tea. After morning tea we carried on with our rotation. I did minecraft then I went to Kate to do matariki tukutuku panel. I drew a tree it was brown and green with crosses inside the tree. Then I went to Mrs Gibbs me and Maryos played knucklebones then it was lunch time. At lunch time I played touch with Jonathan,Anton, Jeremiah and Tusiga. Anton and Jonathan were in my team we versed Jeremiah and Tusiga. We won 5 to 4 then we had to pack up then go back in the marae. Then we walked back to school. I walked with room 21. We finally got to school I was so tired. When I got to room 5 Mrs Gibbs unlocked the class so we could get our stuff then we got to go home. It was an awesome day at the marae.
